Love : Happy Birthday Vera!

It is soo difficult to take photos of kids.
Either that or I need a high speed camera.

Had fun at Vera's 1st birthday party but not as much as the birthday gal herself.

This is my favourite shot, look at her so happy.

Happy Birthday sweetheart, may you always be healthy and happy.

Pinterest love : Copy & Paste

This seriously made me laugh out loud.
What a cute idea!

It's going to be a fun fun weekend for me!
First off, going to Bras Basah later to check out Fancy Paper, a paper store recommended by a couple of friends as having the best value for bulk purchase. Then if I have the time, I'll pop by Chinatown to get some more fabric. Gonna try a new idea for a lanyard!

Then in the evening, it's Vera's first birthday BBQ at a chalet! I'll get to see the cutie plus my gals! Hoping to get some good pictures to try out all the photoshop goodies and tips I have been amassing this week.

Sunday will a stop by Plaza Singapura's Daiso to get the lovely lace that seems to be found only at that outlet. After that, it'll be a mad crafting and editing afternoon. Wonder if I'll be able to do both at the same time.

Leaving you all with this absolutely cute photo until I have something to show you. Happy weekend!

1st Gown selection!!

Wedding-y day yesterday!! Went  with HTB to eClarity to check out wedding bands and then with my two gals Alicia and Joyce to The Aisle for my first official gown selection.

We had a great time at eClarity, so much so that I need to dedicate a whole post to it. They are the best!!

I had invited all 8 of my sisters for the big gown event but most of them couldn't make it that day. Thankfully I still have Alicia and my little sis to help me decide and give opinions!!

The appointment's at 6.30pm and we stayed for about 2 hours, happily trying on gowns.

But enough talk...Pictures!!!

Me and darling Alicia

Me and my dearest little sis

Pretty gowns all in a row

A growing stack of gowns for me to try

All excited to get started!

Cam-whoring first!

Ivory satin and taffeta. Like the flower.

A favourite with my 2 gals. This has flowers and feathers as embellishments.

 Sexy see through crystal-embellished back

My absolute favourite!!! LOVE the dramatic long ribbon sash!!!! Soooo gorgeous!!

Totally adore the front too!! Clean and simple. Nice lines and textures.
Definitely short-listed as one of the choices for my morning gown.

I like this simple classy look too.

Tried a short gown as a trial for my 2nd march-in gown. Suitable for mingling with friends and family. Eddie thinks this looks great on me and the white and black does make a very good contrast. Very elegant. But not in tune with my palette so I'll KIV this.

Presenting a very strong contender for THE GOWN
A rosy pink corset with fluffy tulle/organza full ball-gown skirt.

It has a line of crystals along the hem of the bustline and it'll come with a couple of white flowers along the side of my hip and a white satin ribbon at the centre of the bustline. I can imagine it now, it'll look amazing.

 Very princess-y and dreamy, no?

It was really fun and I can't wait to try out more gowns :).
My next appointment's 7 May and HTB has appointment for his suit fitting on 13 May.
Can't wait!!

Bridesmaid Invite Reveal!!

I am most excited to reveal the photos for my bridesmaids' invites! Actually I gave them out in Dec but only got round to posting the photos now ;p

Most brides in Singapore or perhaps even Asia have a brood of 'sisters' or 'Jie Mei-s (姐妹)to help out with the nitty-gritties of the actual day. Similarly the groom will also have a bunch of 'brothers' or 'Xiong Di-s' (兄弟)as support.

They are normally siblings or best friends and can go from 3 to even a dozen of them. They form an integral part of the celebrations and are a great help to any bride and groom, helping them from dressing up to handling guests at the reception.

Usually the bride and groom will ask their friends and siblings to be their 'sisters' and 'brothers' either by just asking, through SMSes or emails or even by just involving them in the wedding discussions.

My 'sisters' comprise of my very own sister, cousin and best galfriends from various stages of my life. They are my dearest gals and it means a lot to me to have them by my side on my biggest day, thus I thought I couldn't ask them any old way. Plus it's a good chance for me to try out some of the many DIY projects I've found on the wedding blogs I've been following!

Ready?
Here we go!

I made them using the fabric envelope how-to and recipe card template at Wedding Chicks.

For the recipe cards, I used Halo Handletter font and edited the template using Photoscape. If only I had started using Photoshop earlier, then my bridesmaid invites would have followed the same theme as the wedding invites I'm now designing.

For the labels, I printed their names using Carbon Type font and cut them out. I punched out the sakura shape using a paper punch. I used ordinary pink envelopes bought from Popular and the fabric is my favourite candy stripe from Spotlight. I bought the bubblegum bakers twine from Made with Love at Plaza Singapura.

There you go! My recipe for a perfect wedding day, having my 8 lovely, gorgeous, adorable sisters by my side!

They were loads of fun to do and I loved the reactions I got out of giving them. They ranged from the usual "Oh so sweet and pretty" to an incredulous "Are you serious??" (which I wasn't sure whether it was because I did an actual invite or that I'm asking her as my bridesmaid haha) to my favourite "OMG YES! YES! YES!" One would think I had just proposed to her if they didn't know better LOL.

If you are also interested to do your own invites, there's a plethora of free editable templates by kind-hearted very talented people online. Places like Wedding Chicks, Martha Stewart Weddings and Project Wedding Blog are good places to start.
