I'm back!
Yes finally I have the mood to blog, mainly spurred by the Pin-fest I had the other day. I went back to view my favourite home and design blogs and the Better Homes and Gardens webbie. And I got sooo inspired! I pinned like a whole lot of gorgeous pics and got re-pinned a lot too, hehe.

Don't you just love this table?? This is from SlowWood, designed and handmade in the Netherlands. They use natural finishes and mineral paint so it's all very earth-friendly!

This is my favourite piece. Love the simplicity of it and I know it'll look fantastic in a corner of our living room as a small desk for mail and bills. But it's soooo expensive. I'll just drool over them until The Hubs magically gets super talented with the hammer and saw and make me one.

This whimsical collection was designed by Anna Bond from Rifle Paper Co and photographed by Tara Donne. You can get the free printables here. I especially love the bookplate and the bookmark. You can totally use them on a non-baby shower occasion.

I chanced upon this great post on The Crafty DiY Bride today, which is dead useful for any bride to be.

How to make an Inspiration Board

Inspiration boards are an important tool when you need to visualise and plan the look for your wedding. You've probably started saving images from websites, bookmarking links or cutting pages from magazines. What you need next is an area to organise all your material. This helps you to see your ideas in a cohesive manner and it will also be helpful when you need to show your planners or gown designers.

I've always held off showing my inspiration boards here mainly because it is too tiring to do them in Photoshop or other design software. Thanks to Mel from The Crafty DiY Bride, now there's a selection of various websites and tools we can easily create boards with!!

I tried the one from Dessy and it's really handy!
Here's a sample board I did.

It's a little last minute so it's not very good ;p.
You can use your own images or their own library of resources.

What I love best is that it's tied up with PANTONE colour swatches so no more 'light, soft pink' but 'PANTONE Rose Water' and instead of trying to describe the green as 'mossy', it's 'PANTONE Pistachio'. No one will ever get your colours wrong again!

Only flaw is that I couldn't save it as an image and had to print screen in order to post it here.

There's also a ton of other resources like bridesmaid dresses and invites and men's accessories.

Great Find: Insanely Beautiful Webbies with Free Treasures galore!

I've been so bad neglecting this blog of mine but I'd been through quite a dry spell lately, racking my brains for ideas and designs for my bridesmaid invite cards. It has been quite frustrating.

But it turns out my muse is the good old internet. You wouldn't believe the number of kind hearted talented souls out there. In this weeke alone I came across 3 fantabulous wedding blogs that blew me aaway with the gorgeousness of their creations and posts. And best of it all, these angels are offering their works of art for free!!

Now introducing the blogs every bride who's interested in making her wedding totally beautiful and customised MUST VISIT (esp DIY brides cause you'll die in DIY heaven at these sites)

First up is Ruffled.

This blog has the most amazing DIY freebies. And they update reguarly featuring wedding inspirations, real weddings and goodies from other fabulous wedding sites. Love browsing through this blog!

One of my favourite projects featured in Ruffled is this really unique ring holder. I myself have been sourcing for ideas to DIY my ring holder because I totally do not want the traditional ring pillow. It's boring and no one knows what to do with it after the ceremony other than to stick it in some box and collect dust haha.

I want something that we can put on our dresser to keep our wedding bands safe when we take them off each night.
And i found this idea really interesting. It's perfect for book loving couples or vintage themed weddings.

Next up is Wedding Chicks (love the name!)

They showcase gorgeous real weddings and photos as well and what's unique about this site is that they do customised tote bags and t shirts for your weddings! These tote bags would be perfect for your bridesmaids and the t shirts are a nice variation for your groomsman especially if you're doing a casual fun wedding.

Great find!! iDiY - design goodies for 'i-Do'-it-Yourself weddings

I found a great webbie with loads of free DIY templates and goodies, tips, tutorials and inspirations!!
What a goldmine!

It all came about when one of my besties posted a pic of an organiser cover I made a couple of years ago for Christmas pressies. I had bought inexpensive organisers from Popular bookstore and jazzed it up by scrapping the covers. Looking at the designs now, I find them so amateurish but she treasured it and cut it out from the organiser and kept it as a bookmark *so touched*

So I resolved to make them something better this year. Something useful and gorgeous and totally customised for each of them as a Christmas present. I was googling for ideas and chance across this site

'i Do' it Yourself

It's filled with truckloads of free templates and clip art and soooo many pretty things!!

Since I've been itching to get my hands deep into glue and paper and all things craft but it's still waay too early to get started on my DIY projects for my big day (i always hear a loud 'Siao ah!!' and eye-rolling big enough to move boulders when I say I wanna start buying supplies), so I thought a good project to keep me busy would be handmade invites to the 8 lovely ladies I wanna ask to be my jie meis. Most of them know that they'll be part of my entourage but I've always feel it would feel nice to be formally asked and if it's through a gorgeous handmade card, it'll be all the more memorable and sincere wouldn't it?
