Love : Our handmade invites

It's the final countdown! (I know...cheesy)
As you can imagine, I'm super busy now. So when I have the time for posting it's gonna be photo laden posts for now. Perhaps after the whole hullabaloo is over I'll put up details and tutorials for my DIY.

For now please just admire the photos haha.

So presenting...our handmade invites!!

Love: Pretty packaging inspiration

Totally loving this to-die-for packaging from oh hello friend, one of my favourite blogs.

It's exactly what I want to do for my invites.

images from here

I'm designing my invites to resemble vintage postcards. There'll be 3 pages to be tied up with twine and I'll put them into kraft paper bags stamped with our monogram. Included in the package will also be a handmade cherry blossom themed magnet in a vellum mini envelope, so that our guests can immediately put up our invite up on the fridge or memo board. Glee!

My obstacles now would be to find a reasonably priced printer and also affordable supplies for printing our invites and secondly I'm praying that my in-laws would be ok with my ideas. It's very different from the traditional red invites or those with double happiness embossed all over. I'm not very fond of that. Your invites are the first impression your guests gets of what your wedding would be like and I want them to reflect our style and be fun and unique. I am very afraid they might not like this at all and insist on the traditional ones instead. *crosses fingers*

Inspiration: Invites from Minted

I've been working on designing our wedding invites recently and couldn't come up with anything I love yet. So I have been looking to the web for inspirations and ideas.

Minted is a online source for lovely paper goods like wedding invitations, greeting cards and stationery. But what is really unique about Minted is that they are not a design firm or company selling printing services. They are actually a online community of designers. They have a monthly design challenge where anyone can enter and they select the best designs to include into the Minted collection. Winners also get cash prizes and commissions when their designs are sold. They also use quality papers and ink. This is such a good platform for budding or amateur designers to have a chance to produce their works professionally. I think this is a great idea and I am so impressed with the designs in the collection! If I were a designer, I would love to have this opportunity to have my works printed with such quality.

I am definitely very inspired by this loveliness!! Drool time!

If only I can produce invites as gorgeous as these!!
