Love: Our Wedding Photos

Hi all,

Sharing some photos from our wedding.
All photos from tinydotphotography, our wedding photographer.
Photo templates are from the amazing pugly pixel which could be found here. (free!)

My two favourite looks for our big day. For morning fetching of the bride and second march in.

It was a wonderful day and the Loft Suite at The Fullerton where we stayed for our wedding night was simply amazing.

Can't wait to receive our photo album! Will definitely put up photos of that too.

Love: Pink Carnations and Green Pom Poms

Hi all!

A little lull again in my posting again. Work and hormones have never been a good combination for blogging. I hope to get out of my daydreaming cloud soon.

Oh! Did I mention that I picked our pink carnations and green pom poms for my wedding lunch decor? Getting to love that combination more and more! The hotel package offered the usual options: roses, gerberas and carnations. I picked carnations because I did not want the usual roses and I thought the ruffled look of carnations were quite vintage. I asked my florist to use soft pink ones and to complement it with green pom poms to fit into my wedding colours.

At first I was hesitant with my choice because carnations do give an impression of being quite mumsy. They are THE flowers for Mother's Day afterall. But when I started googling for images I found the soft and ruffled look of carnations so fitting with the vintage garden look I'm trying to create for the ballroom. And the green pom poms add an element of fun and cute to the arrangement.

try to ignore the large lily and the yellow roses in this arrangement, don't the pink carnations and green pom poms look lovely together??

I can't wait to see the results on my wedding day.

Bridesmaid Invite Reveal!!

I am most excited to reveal the photos for my bridesmaids' invites! Actually I gave them out in Dec but only got round to posting the photos now ;p

Most brides in Singapore or perhaps even Asia have a brood of 'sisters' or 'Jie Mei-s (姐妹)to help out with the nitty-gritties of the actual day. Similarly the groom will also have a bunch of 'brothers' or 'Xiong Di-s' (兄弟)as support.

They are normally siblings or best friends and can go from 3 to even a dozen of them. They form an integral part of the celebrations and are a great help to any bride and groom, helping them from dressing up to handling guests at the reception.

Usually the bride and groom will ask their friends and siblings to be their 'sisters' and 'brothers' either by just asking, through SMSes or emails or even by just involving them in the wedding discussions.

My 'sisters' comprise of my very own sister, cousin and best galfriends from various stages of my life. They are my dearest gals and it means a lot to me to have them by my side on my biggest day, thus I thought I couldn't ask them any old way. Plus it's a good chance for me to try out some of the many DIY projects I've found on the wedding blogs I've been following!

Ready?
Here we go!

I made them using the fabric envelope how-to and recipe card template at Wedding Chicks.

For the recipe cards, I used Halo Handletter font and edited the template using Photoscape. If only I had started using Photoshop earlier, then my bridesmaid invites would have followed the same theme as the wedding invites I'm now designing.

For the labels, I printed their names using Carbon Type font and cut them out. I punched out the sakura shape using a paper punch. I used ordinary pink envelopes bought from Popular and the fabric is my favourite candy stripe from Spotlight. I bought the bubblegum bakers twine from Made with Love at Plaza Singapura.

There you go! My recipe for a perfect wedding day, having my 8 lovely, gorgeous, adorable sisters by my side!

They were loads of fun to do and I loved the reactions I got out of giving them. They ranged from the usual "Oh so sweet and pretty" to an incredulous "Are you serious??" (which I wasn't sure whether it was because I did an actual invite or that I'm asking her as my bridesmaid haha) to my favourite "OMG YES! YES! YES!" One would think I had just proposed to her if they didn't know better LOL.

If you are also interested to do your own invites, there's a plethora of free editable templates by kind-hearted very talented people online. Places like Wedding Chicks, Martha Stewart Weddings and Project Wedding Blog are good places to start.

The One with Candy, candy, candy!!

I have a HUGE HUGE HUUUGE weakness for anything candy-striped. I just find them so pretty, sweet and dainty. If there's anything you wanna sell me just slap on the candy-stripes and I'm sold!

I was researching pink and green candies for my candy buffet table for the big day

remember this? beautiful table from Amy Atlas and my inspiration

when I came across this and I nearly died.

This is a table designed by Amy Moss. (Are all uber talented dessert tale designers called Amy?? haha)

soooo pretty!! I love the backdrop. I wonder how I can do something similar for mine without like having to move an actual plywood wall or something to my ballroom foyer. Maybe I can get a large piece of candy-striped fabric and get the hotel staff to hang it up for me on one wall and place the table in front of it. I'll worry about that later.

Here are the pink and green candy inspirations I found online:

All pictures taken from another stunning DIY blogger Torie Jayne

they look so yummy!

clearly it'll be hard to find sweets like these in singapore but we have a few yummy looking ones ourselves!
i'm planning to get maybe mini strawberry and green apple mentos or pink and green candy from Sticky; to put into clear envelopes for the boards, strawberry Kit-Kats re-wrapped with my own japanese inspired wrappers on white trays and glass containers filled with the sweets featured below.

following photos are taken by me ;)

sugar coated strawberry and green apple gummies

pretty pastel marshmellows
